About Cory Language Tuition

My name is Jon Cory, and I am a fully qualified Modern Foreign Languages teacher (QTS) with 13 years of experience teaching French and Spanish up to A‑level, Italian to GCSE and German to KS3 in Suffolk comprehensive schools. I also hold a full Enhanced DBS certificate. Over the years, I have supported learners from Year 7 through to adult level, helping students prepare for GCSE, A‑level and 13+ entrance exams, as well as teaching English as a foreign language and English Literature.
My teaching approach
My lessons are clear, structured and confidence‑building. I focus on breaking down grammar and vocabulary in a way that makes sense, planning sessions that cover all four skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. I make extensive use of technology and interactive resources to keep learning engaging and effective, and I deliver online lessons through Google Meet, which provides a reliable, easy‑to‑use platform for students.
I believe students achieve their best when they understand the bigger picture of their course. For this reason, I often dedicate time early on to exploring the exam specification together. When learners know exactly what the exam requires, they feel more confident, more motivated and better equipped to succeed.
Whether a learner is preparing for GCSE or A‑level exams, catching up after a difficult year, or learning for travel or work, I tailor lessons to their strengths, needs and goals.
